The WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines prepares students for an entry-level job in hospitality or retail. This course is designed for people who serve or sell wine in restaurants, hotels, bars and bottle shops.
It covers the basic product knowledge and skills about wines and how to sell them. Your professional skills in sales and your knowledge of wines will be improved. This will increase your ability to assist your customers and improve wine sales for your employer.
The program is also an excellent introduction for the wine enthusiast who wants to learn more about wine styles, storage, service, and unlock the secret to matching the perfect wine with food. Confidently order wine from a restaurant wine list that will pair perfectly with your meal.
On successful completion, you will be issued with an internationally recognised certificate: Level 1 Award in Wines from the globally acclaimed, UK based, Wine and Spirit Education Trust.

Course Duration: This qualification has a minimum requirement of six hours of guided study time with a 45-minute closed-book multiple-choice exam. No study outside of this is required.

Which level should I do?
Level 1 Award in Wines: For industry beginners or those who want to be able to read a wine list.
Level 2 Award in Wines: Learn about different growing conditions around the world and learn how to taste and describe them.
Level 3 Award in Wines: An advanced course. You will need to have completed WSET Level 2 Award in wine (or have equivalent knowledge).
