Jayne Lewis

Jayne Lewis is an award-winning brewer, beer educator and industry leader with more than 20 years of experience in brewing, beer judging and education. As co-founder of Two Birds Brewing—Australia's first female-founded brewery—she played a significant role in the growth of Australia's craft beer industry while building a reputation for producing outstanding beers.

After beginning her career as a winemaker, Jayne transitioned into brewing, working at Matilda Bay Brewing Company before becoming Head Brewer at Mountain Goat Beer. In 2011, she co-founded Two Birds Brewing with Danielle Allen, leading the brewery to national and international success. Under her brewing leadership, Two Birds won numerous awards, including Champion Medium Australian Brewery at the Australian International Beer Awards, before the business was acquired by Fermentum in 2021.

Jayne is passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping others develop a deeper understanding of beer. Her teaching combines technical expertise with extensive hands-on industry experience, making complex brewing concepts engaging, practical and accessible for students of all backgrounds.

Beyond brewing, Jayne has been a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion within the drinks industry, co-founding Drinks Agents For Change and supporting initiatives that create safer, more inclusive workplaces. In recognition of her contribution to Australian brewing, she received the Beer & Brewer Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.

Jayne brings a wealth of real-world experience, enthusiasm and insight to every WSET classroom, helping students build both knowledge and confidence in beer.
