As Blanc de Blancs translates to ‘white from white’ we will be tasting a selection of classic Blanc de Blancs from Champagne, but also a carefully curated selection of other premium sparkling wines made from other white varieties from throughout the world.
Ulrich (Uli) Grey-Smith earned his Winemaking degree in 1991 from Roseworthy Agricultural College. Since then, Uli has completed thirty-seven vintages in capacities of Senior Winemaker, winemaker, consultant, trainee, and cellar-hand. He has worked both in Australia and overseas.
He made the Padthaway Estate Eliza sparkling for eight years. Plus, consulting to others, wine show judging, & a champagne vintage in 2002 has given him insights, knowledge, and anecdotes that he loves to share.
Uli’s love of Sparkling wines came from working with the vineyards and equipment. He was the senior winemaker red, fortified and sparkling at DeBortoli in Griffith.
