Wine was a constant presence in Verena's life during celebrations while growing up in Germany. Her real interest in wine was sparked during her time working in the hospitality sector in New Zealand.
Verena Nistler
This passion lead to serious studies with with WSET Level 2 in Wine in 2009 and WSET Level 3 in Wine in 2010 in New Zealand. Upon arriving back in Europe, she completed the WSET Diploma in Wine in 2015.
In 2015, Verena returned to Australia and transitioned from hospitality to wine retail and education. She managed the administration for WSET and other wine courses and began teaching WSET courses at Winehouse in 2017.
Many of our students may already be familiar with Verena, as she joined Bacchus Academy in November 2021 doing all our administration. We are delighted to now have her as our main WSET teacher in Melbourne.
