Courses offered:

WSET award 1,2,3 in Wines and Level 1 Award in Spirits. All courses include classes, learning materials and the exam fee. Bacchus Academy have taught over 1000 students in our thirty years of wine education in Australia

Which level should I do? 

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines: Introduces students to wine and grape varieties, and food pairing. Perfect for industry beginners or those who want to be able to read a wine list.
WSET Level 2 Award in Wines: If you have an understanding or interest in wine but no formal training, this is also a good place to start. Learn about different growing conditions around the world and learn how to taste and describe them.
WSET Level 3 Award in Wines: An advanced course. You will need to have completed WSET Level 2 Award in wine (or have equivalent knowledge). It’s not easy and will require lots of studying outside the 30 hours of class time!

To say that Ian Trinkle knows a lot about wine is a vast understatement. The renowned sommelier has spent the last 16 years honing his craft, curating multi-award-winning wine lists for some of the city’s best restaurants and dining precincts.' In addition to teaching WSET Level 1 and 2 Awards in Wine for Bacchus Academy, Ian owns and runs Wine-ism, part wine bar, wine store and event space.

Getting Here:

Our brilliant WSET Level 1 and 2 in Wine teacher – Ian Trinkle – has opened up his own venue in Brisbane. A mix of a wine bar and retail store specialising in all wines great. It is situated at 97 Sandgate Road, Albion

This venue is a wine bar and retail shop approx. 10 mins drive from Brisbane city. There is street parking and two hour parking onsite. The 306 bus stops only 2 minutes walk away. There is a great coffee shop and bakery for lunch within Albion Fine Trades.
